1) DinTaiFung 鼎泰豐

The most famous steamed dumplings in Taipei. Located just a bus stop away from the National Concert Hall. They don't take reservations but it totally worths standing in the long line.
2) "Tong" Sushi 同壽司

A very fine fusion style sushi place. Probably the best place to eat near Taipei 101 area. It's inside of a building called "neo 19".
3) "Long-Du" Peking Duck 龍都烤鴨

My favorite place for Peking duck (which needs to be ordered by phone in advance). They also have a good variety of Dim-Sum dishes.
4) Pickled-cabbage Hot Pot 北平都一處
Phone: 02-27206417
The weather might be too hot for hot pot, but this is one of the best in Taipei. It's very close to the city hall and not far away from Taipei 101. They specialize in "classic" Chinese cuisine.
5) Various Night Market 夜市是也
Ask the Ju people which one is most convenient. You may not enjoy the food, but you should definitely experience the local crowds for the absolute chaos.
6) Mos hamburger 摩斯漢堡
Well, if you need burgers really bad, here is a good one. I know Sean Griffin relied on it quite heavily while he was in Taipei.
